To Live is _______ - Day 1

Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that what has happened to me has actually served to advance the gospel.

Philippians 1:12

Paul did not go into detail about what had happened. In Acts 21 -28 we read that Paul was arrested, imprisoned, shipwrecked, etc. There was a long list of challenges he had faced but he summed it all up in "it happened". He recognized those things that had happened as being used to move the gospel forward.

It is easy to get stuck on all that has happened in the last year. Pandemic, quarantine, racial tension, political unrest, economic instability, etc. When we get stuck on the past we miss what God is doing in the present. Often the healthiest thing we can do is sum it up as "it happened" and then recognize how it has set us up for the future. Everything that has come against us can actually advance the gospel.

Are you stuck on what has happened in your life in the last twelve months? Fixating on those events may cause you to miss what God wants to do in and through you right now. How might God want to use what has happened in your life to move the gospel forward? Take time to journal on this today.
