No Más - Day 2

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellence of the power may be of God and not of us.

2 Corinthians 4:7

Paul compared us to earthen vessels. In another translation it reads jars of clay. An earthen vessel is fragile and imperfect. It is not durable or precious. Yet God placed the light of Christ in us!

Why would God put something so valuable into something so common? For the same reason we might put more money into a house than it is worth. Because he intends to keep us. God sees us as "keepers". He knows we are frail, but he loves us regardless. Sometimes the spiritual exhaustion we feel is more about the earthen vessel. Our bodies get hungry and tired. Our minds get angry and lonely. Sometimes the most spiritual thing you can do is take a nap, go for a walk, eat a good meal -- get refreshed!

You are a keeper! The presence of Christ lives inside of you. What does it look like for you to take care of your earthen vessel? What is something you can do today? Make space to do it and go and be refreshed!
