COMPASSION // SEPTEMBER 11, 2020
"So he got up and went to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him."
The prodigal son prepared a speech for his father and fully expected to be treated like a servant. Instead his father embraced him — showering him with compassion.
Someone needs to get up and go home. Maybe its you or maybe it is someone you love and care about. Regardless of who it is, one thing is certain. The person returning will be met by the Father with compassion and not judgement! God waits for those who have walked away to turn back around and begin the journey home. Then he runs to greet them with open arms. He does not demand an explanation. Rather, he initiates a celebration!
How are you personally moved by the compassion of our Father? Journal on that today. Are you far from him? All you need to do is turn around and he will run to you. Is there someone you love who is far from him today? Reach out and let us agree with you in prayer that your loved one would come to their senses and turn around.
