STRONGER TOGETHER // JULY 28, 2020
Some men came, bringing to [Jesus] a paralyzed man, carried by four of them.
The paralyzed man could not get himself to Jesus, so his friends picked him up and carried him. We don't know whose idea it was, but we do know his friends had a whatever-it-takes attitude. They dug through a roof to lower their friend in front of Jesus!
It's so important that we have friends who want the best for us — friends who deeply care for us and who have a deep faith in Jesus. We also need to be this type of friend to others. We are better together! We are stronger together! While it's true that God is all we need, we often experience God through others. We are created for community!
What does your community look like? Who can you call on to carry you when you're paralyzed? Who are you a friend to in their time of need? Today, let your friends know you appreciate their care and concern. If one of your friends is struggling, how might you "carry them to Jesus"? And if you need some Jesus-centered friendships, reach out and join a group!
