GOTTA GET AWAY // JULY 27, 2020
A few days later, when Jesus again entered Capernaum, the people heard that he had come home. They gathered in such large numbers that there was no room left, not even outside the door, and he preached the word to them.
Jesus couldn't go anywhere without crowds following him. They wanted to see people being healed and set free from demonic forces. Jesus knew that in the midst of this daily pressure, he needed to get away to the wilderness where he could spend time with the Father through prayer and be refreshed and revitalized.
We've never seen anything like the season we're living in. There are unique pressures we're all facing. For some, it's quarantining with family. You love them, but being together 24/7 has its own challenges! For others, it's taking on the role as your child's teacher. Then there are those who live by themselves and experience quarantine more like isolation. Regardless of where you find yourself, it's critical that you prioritize what God has for you over what people want from you. This season provides a unique opportunity to lean in to Jesus and allow him to refresh us.
What would it look like for you to get away with Jesus today? The wilderness may not be an option, but how about the porch, a back bedroom, or a nearby park? Lean into him by reaching out through prayer and let him revitalize your life!
