BOLD PRAYER // JANUARY 14, 2021
It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart and, whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God’s grace with me ... And this is my prayer.
Earlier in the chapter Paul said that the Philippians were on his mind. He was in prison, yet he was thinking about other people. He goes on to say they were also in his heart. Paul was physically hundreds of miles away but spiritually he was close to them. Out of that deep connection he experienced a joy when praying for them.
Last year was challenging. The temptation to complain and criticize is real. But joy is not found there. Joy is found when we take our eyes off our self and our circumstances and look to serve and pray for others.
During 21 for '21 we are praying bold prayers. Who has God brought to mind for you to pray for? Who has he put on your heart? Take time today to pray boldly for them. Consider texting or calling them to see if they have any specific requests.
