COMMUNITY // OCTOBER 19, 2021
"At that time, many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved."
Jesus prophesied that in the last days, many people would turn away from their faith and turn on those who remained faithful. Yet even in the midst of increased wickedness, there is hope for those who stand firm.
As Christians, we have lost our home field advantage and find our selves in the midst of a hostile environment. The crowd does not support us. And many who were followers of Jesus have chosen acceptance, affirmation and the applause of secular culture at the expense of their commitment to Christ. These are rough times.
So how should we respond? We are to live for the applause of one -- the one being Jesus! We do this best in community with like-minded people. We need each other now more than ever. Are you connected in community? Groups provide an incredible environment for healthy, life-giving relationships to form. This Wednesday night we are launching a new Zoom group on the life of Abraham. Join us as we learn together how to walk by faith even in the midst of difficult times.
