The Lord Almighty is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.
Psalm 46:7
God is our fortress in times of trouble. He protects us from outside influences or disturbances. He acts like a bunker providing a place of defense to protect us against attack. No matter what we're facing, we can let God be God.
We need someone bigger than us, smarter than us, stronger than us to abundantly exceed anything we could ever do. God will tell us to “drop it” because he knows we can't handle it.
Drop your weapons because you can’t fix THIS! Can you handle mountains falling (
Psalm 46:2)? Probably not! Might as well let God be God. Stop going into panic mode and trying to fix everything by yourself.
Today, you can remember that he's God. You have a track record with him -- a history of what he's done in your life. He's your fortress, your refuge and your safe place. He's also your strength (
Isaiah 40:31). He's your present help; you don't need to try to find him. He's already with you. While you're trying to figure it out, God's already worked it out.
