Where does our spirit of fear come from? It feels instinctive, reactive even; does having fear disqualify us as a person of faith? Some things just break us down, and it's tough to stand and feel like a victor when a situation feels out of our hands or when we feel so disqualified. Sometimes deep down, we don't feel we deserve help or for things to get better. The good news for us is that family legacies or our own pasts don't determine our destiny. God can redeem and work through any of us. But how do we handle a bad situation or keep going? Certainly, we pray! Yet, we still have to deal with the reality of what we're facing. The secret of
Psalm 46 is found in verse 10: when it's out of our hands, we can learn to put it in God's hands.
How good are you at being still and knowing he's God? How often do you meditate, and let it sink in? He's your rock, he's your fortress, he's your deliverer, and in him, you can trust. Today, take the pause and reflect on
Psalm 46:10:
Be still and know that I'm God. Hear him calm you in your fear or worry. Imagine yourself sitting in perfect stillness
knowing he's God. Throughout your day when you start to let panic set in, hear it again:
Be still. Know that I'm God.
