Remnant Revival - Day 3

THE OUTSIDERS // JANUARY 12, 2022

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

God called Amos to travel from Judah to its neighboring richer, more powerful kingdom, Jerusalem. He was called to preach there, and his accent betrayed him as a southerner and an outsider. He was guaranteed to receive a hostile reaction because of who he was and the message he was bringing: denouncing the sins of those around him. He wasn't exactly bringing a popular message.

How about today? Does anyone feel like everywhere you go now you're an outisder? Our culture today is extremely divided: Democrats versus Republicans. Vaxxed versus unvaxxed. It feels like it's an us versus them mentality in just about everything. Our world is full of tension. But sometimes God calls us to minister to the other side in spaces where we don't feel comfortable.

Ministry may call for more than prayer or reading your Bible; it can take work that calls you out of your comfort zone and pushes you toward the "others." Today, take some time to pray and ask God to whom he might be calling you to minister. If you make yourself available to God, he will work through your life in miraculous ways to bring healing and hope to the other side.
