Not Normal - Day 1

The Lord is my light and my salvation -- whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life -- of whom shall I be afraid?

Psalm 27:1

Rather than cower in fear, David leaned into the Lord. The Lord was his stronghold -- his place of security and strength, helping him resist attack.

Many today are frozen in fear: Fear of disease. Fear of political turmoil. Fear of economic uncertainty. We think: When will this be over? We are looking for the light at the end of the tunnel. Yet in the dark, David says the Lord is his light! We don't need to fear the dark, for God is our light!

God is also David's stronghold: It's where he went for security and strength to help him resist attack. We don't need to look for rescue or for a hero because we have a savior, and he is our safe place. We don't have to fear our weakness because God is our strength, which is not normal thinking!

How are you doing? Are you under attack? Are you worried about your weakness? If so, here is some good news: You don’t need to fear your weakness because God is your strength. This may not sound normal, but you are not normal! You are greatly loved by God, and he is your stronghold. Trust in him!

Worship is a great way to focus our gaze and overcome fear. Choose to let worship be your weapon today!
