No Time to Thrive - Day 4

She said to herself, "If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed."

Matthew 9:21

Encouraging herself, the woman with the issue of blood proceeded forward to get to Jesus. The woman not only heard, she spoke!

Sometimes we need to speak and encourage ourselves. Encouragement produces hope and strength when life gets tough. But sometimes there is no one available to encourage us. We must decide that we will not stay in that heavy place; we will speak and encourage ourselves!

David was familiar with this. When everyone stood against him, and there was absolutely no one to look to for encouragement, the Bible tells us David looked to the Lord. His decision to do so immediately brought him strength (1 Samuel 30:6).

Today, your homework assignment is to encourage yourself in the Lord. To make it even more personal and powerful, choose to look at yourself in the mirror while you do it. As you speak the word of God to yourself, declare it! You'll find encouragement and the strength you need to face your situation and overcome it!
