IT'S ALL HIS // MARCH 31, 2021
As they were untying the colt, its owners asked them, "Why are you untying the colt?" They replied, "The Lord needs it."
As Creator of the world, Jesus was entitled to everything. When he needed the service of the colt, the owner released the animal without asking questions and without delay. The need of Jesus came before the want of the owner.
If we only focus on our wants we miss the needs of others. Purpose is found in what we give, not in what we get or what we hold onto. It's not that Jesus needs what we have, in the sense that he can't exist without it. Rather, he chooses to work alongside us, giving us the opportunity to partner with him. How much does God have to say to us before we will let go of what's in our hands? Let's stop holding on and start handing out!
Is there something God is asking you to let go of? It could be your money, time, talent or an item of value. As you evaluate your life, ask yourself this question: What do I have that the Lord needs? How might you offer it to him to use this week? May we all gladly give and remember that it’s all his!
