It's All Right - Day 3

“About Jesus of Nazareth,” they replied. “He was a prophet, powerful in word and deed before God and all the people. The chief priests and our rulers handed him over to be sentenced to death, and they crucified him; but we had hoped that he was the one who was going to redeem Israel. And what is more, it is the third day since all this took place.

Luke 24:19-21

The two men had expected great things from Jesus. They had hoped he would redeem Israel. Those expectations were dashed by his crucifixion. They found themselves disappointed because God had not done what they wanted him to do.

Most of us can probably relate to how these men felt. Disappointment can derail our hope. In the same way that these men found themselves walking away from Jerusalem, we can find ourselves walking away from God's promise for our life. And then Jesus shows up and intercepts us.

You may be walking in disappointment, but you have a date with destiny. Life may not make sense, but God's plan and purpose for your life still stands. Today, choose to hang on to hope by reflecting on the promises God has given to you.
