Into the Great Unknown - Day 1

The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you.”

Genesis 12:1

Abram’s call began with a word from the Lord when he was 75 years old. God called him long before he became Abraham and the man God needed him to be. God told him to GO and leave all that was comfortable to him, to set out for a land God would show him. Abram didn't question God; he heard the call, listened and went.

Who do we listen to these days? The world is loud; whose voice is loudest in our ears? Whose opinions and advice do we follow? Is it our favorite news personality or influencer? The CDC? Our friends? Our boss? We often don't question what they say, but many of us second guess God. He says go, and we say, no, where are you taking us? God says he'll show us, often calling us from the known to the unknown. Long before we transition from Abram to Abraham.

Will you choose to listen to the loud or to the Lord? Today, take some time to listen. Turn down the other voices and really listen. Be intentional about focusing on the voice of God. What is he saying? And when he speaks, listen to the call and go!
