GET READY! // MAY 3, 2021
The next day Jesus decided to leave for Galilee. Finding Philip, he said to him, “Follow me.”
Do you think when Jesus called his disciples to follow him, they were ready for the ridiculous things they'd see and experience?
Are you ready to see God do the ridiculous in your own life? In the life of our church?
Let's take a look at what ready means: being prepared mentally or physically for an experience or action. How often do we pray for something we may not be preparing for? Unless we're prepared, what is supposed to be a blessing could become a burden. What if you got the bigger house, but the payments start to feel overwhelming? Or you pray for that promotion but are not prepared for the accompanying pressure? If you're not ready, that blessing just might break you.
So how might we get ready for ridiculous, absurd, preposterous or outrageous blessings? As a church and as individuals, we can lean into the unbelievable goodness of God to breakout into our community. This week, we'll be taking a closer look at what getting ready looks like. For today, let's start by preparing our hearts through worship, and inviting his presence into our lives.
