Flexible Faith - Day 2

Paul wanted to take him along on the journey, so he circumcised him because of the Jews who lived in that area, for they all knew that his father was a Greek.

Acts 16:3

Since Timothy's father was Greek, he had never been circumcised. He didn’t need to be circumcised to be saved, but the other Jewish believers would struggle to relate to him if he didn't. Circumcision would open doors to reach people.

Our culture does not value commitment. In marriage, it’s often "as long as we both should love" instead of live. Someone gets a new job, but immediately begins thinking about what’s next. Rather than getting connected at one church, many believers bounce around from church to church.

Timothy was all in. He consented to circumcision because it would open doors for the gospel. It is common to hear people say: I would do anything ... but I won’t do that. What’s your that? Your that may not be a roadblock to you, but it could be in reaching others. Salvation is free but commitment is costly. What would it look like for you to have a whatever-it-takes attitude? What would being fully committed look like for you? Take time to journal on this today.
