PRAISE SPRINGS FROM MEMORY // JANUARY 21, 2021
Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise his holy name.
Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits...
Memory fuels our praise!
On Tuesday we discussed how the Jews had spiritual amnesia. They told Jesus they had never been slaves, yet their nation had been enslaved for 400 years in Egypt. Forgetting they were slaves would lead to forgetting to celebrate the Passover, which commemorated God's great deliverance of his people. Without memory we don't know the praises we should have.
Why should you be praising God today? Read through Psalm 103 thinking through your personal experience of God as deliverer. Praise the Lord for what he has done and then close your time in worship.
