Carbs4Life - Day 4

"So they asked him, “What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness; as it is written: ‘He gave them bread from heaven to eat."

John 6:30-31

The people were always requiring signs and wonders, and when they got one, they still sought for more and were never satisfied. They recalled how Moses provided manna every day for forty years. Yet they complained that if Jesus was the new deliverer and savior of the people, then the least he could do was feed them every day with bread from heaven like Moses had.

Most people want to see a sign or miracle before they will believe. But lets be honest, signs never satisfy. After you get one sign, you want to see another one. But the truth is, it is never about the sign. The sign points to the savior.

Are you seeking a sign or are you seeking the savior? Do you need Jesus to prove to you over and over that he is good and will always provide for you? Take time to journal on this today. A faith based on signs alone can't be trusted. Let's make the decision today to believe the eternal word of God not momentary wonders of the world. There is security and confidence when we come to Jesus!
